Cristal Byrne, Ph.D.
Licensed Psychologist
Dr. Byrne specializes in providing assessment to children with neurodevelopmental conditions including autism spectrum, attention deficit/hyperactivity, specific learning, and intellectual disability disorders. She has a passion for accurate differential diagnosis and teasing apart overlapping symptoms in conditions that may impact emotion regulation (autism, ADHD, oppositional defiant disorder) and cognitive functioning (autism, global developmental delay, intellectual disability).
Dr. Byrne earned her B.A. in psychology and women studies from the University of Washington in Seattle. As an undergraduate, she volunteered and, later, interned at Children’s Hospital in the in-patient psychiatric unit. After graduating from UW, she worked as a therapeutic childcare provider at Childhaven in Seattle, where Dr. Byrne worked with at-risk children and families. It was this experience that led her to pursue graduate studies in psychology with a focus on early childhood development. She earned her M.A. and Ph.D. at the University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Byrne completed post-doctorate training at Pediatric Minds where she narrowed her focus to working with children with neurodevelopmental differences and discovered her passion for psychological
assessment.
